The first V70 R-Designs will arrive in UK showrooms in August and will feature retuned lowered sports chassis, 18-inch alloys, silver matt-finish front grill, chrome exhaust and colour coordinated rear spoiler.
Interior specification includes R-Design off-black leather upholstery, leather steering wheel, sports pedals, new instruments dials and a sports gearstick.
Volvo's RSE (rear seat entertainment system) has also been updated and now features larger eight-inch flat-screen monitors built into the front seat headrests. A digital TV option is also available, which enables passengers to watch Freeview channels as well as providing a cardslot that can be used for subscription services.
The RSE system is available for £1,350 and the additional digital TV option is £400.
Volvo has slightly adjusted its V70 range prices on the SE Lux models which have risen in price by £380 due to the addition of active bending headlights, heather washer nozzles and chronograph instrument dials as standard.
The new R-Design variants are positioned £1,750 above the standard SE trim.
