A used car dealer who specialised in the Ford Ka was murdered after a former girlfriend told thugs he kept cash at home.

David Ward, who traded as Ka Man, was killed at his home in Wakefield by Michael Sharp who had been told by Ward's ex-girlfriend, Stacey Foster, that Ward kept up to £20,000 in a safe at home.

A jury at Leeds Crown Court found Sharp guilty of murder, after hearing he put his arm around Ward's neck and choked him.

Sharp's friend Ryan Hill, who admitted beating Ward with a knuckleduster, was cleared of murder but convicted of manslaughter.

Foster and accomplice Christopher Gill were convicted of conspiracy to rob Ward.
