A car registrations company has been slammed by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) for suggesting it could offer the best price for any registration in the UK.

The complainant, British Car Registrations, said that they held registrations that were not available to Registration Transfers.

Therefore the press ad, which stated: “Call us for our price promise on any number advertised anywhere” was not true.

Registration Transfers accepted that the wording could be misunderstood and said the message was meant to convey that they would offer a price promise on any number that they advertised.

ASA upheld the complaint and the company will revise any future adverts to remove any ambiguity.
