Bristol-based Carco Group has bought Bryan Brothers' Citroen site in Bristol for an undisclosed sum.

Bryan Brothers also has a Volvo and Saab franchise, as well as a Ford authorised repairer at its multi-franchise site on St Philips Causeway in Bristol.

However, Carco won't be taking on the sales side of the business for Volvo and Saab or the Ford repairer part of the business. Instead, Carco will just be retaining authorised repairer status for Volvo.

It is currently unclear what will be happening to the Saab and Volvo showrooms at the Bryan Brothers site.

A spokesman from Carco said: "The Saab and Volvo franchises doesn't fit in with Carco's volume aspirations and strategic plans for the business.

"Carco plans to develop the Citroen franchise, Volvo aftersales, as well as used car and LCV volumes."

Managing director of Bryan Brothers, Richard Bryan, will not be moving over to the management team at Carco.
