Windrush Volkswagen has moved its aftersales centre to a separate site from the showroom.

Relocation of the service department to its new home one mile away from the dealership was due to lack of space.

“We were running out of room for cars and we had to do something,” said Windrush dealer principal Tim Attwood.

Attwood added that the main benefit of the £600,000 separate centre would be “total dedication to customers’ after-sales requirements”.

However, he said it was important that the company built bridges between the two sites.

“There are mechanisms in place for this at both sites. For example, there are pictures of the other respective site at the two locations so people are aware.

“There is also a lot of direct mail and press coverage going on to raise awareness.”

The aftersales centre has a lounge with refreshments, Sky television, Wi-Fi and newspapers.

The idea is that people can stay there comfortably all day if needed, said Attwood.

It will only target Volkswagen and VW Group vehicles, including Skoda and Seat.
