Renault dealers will get a £6,995 Twingo variant to sell from next month.

The Twingo Freeway answers the UK network's calls for a low-priced version of the city car. Previously the range started at £8,122 for the Extreme variant.

It gives Renault dealers a Twingo that undercuts the Fiat 500 by £1,100 and the new Ford Ka by £830.

Equipment includes remote central locking, height adjustable steering wheel, electric windows, front airbags and a CD-player.

Twingo Freeway has a 60bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine. Deliveries begin mid-February.
