RAC patrolman Will Shepherd has been crowned Young Mechanic of the Year in the BBC Three series which aims to find the best young talent in a range of professions.

Having entered earlier this year, Shepherd was pitted against hundreds of mechanics from around the country, who all believed they had what it takes to take the title.

The final programme this week featured three rigorous challenges where the mechanics had to prove their passion and ambition in front of two expert judges.

Shepherd, from Oldbury in the West Midlands, has been an RAC patrolman for four years.
