Black Horse achieves ‘SAF approved’ status

Black Horse Motor Finance has been Specialist Automotive Finance (SAF) approved after completing its competency test.

The test was introduced by the Finance & Leasing Association (FLA) in 2007 to improve the practice of selling point of sale finance in car dealerships.

As a result of Black Horse staff voluntarily passing the online SAF test, the company has now achieved full SAF Approved status.

From January 2010 Black Horse’s field sales teams will promote the benefits of the new qualification to dealers, in an effort to boost consumer confidence in motor finance by providing better information and advice in showrooms on which product is right for them.

Chris Sutton, Black Horse Motor Finance managing director, said: "The SAF logo is a kitemark for car buyers and gives dealership sales staff the confidence and knowledge they need to sell point of sale finance effectively and responsibly.

"We strongly welcome the introduction of this industry standard and have given it our full backing by ensuring all of our field sales teams have gone through the test.

"In conjunction with the FLA, we are now taking steps to actively promote SAF to our dealer customers."
