We’re pleased – delighted in fact – that so many businesses in the motor industry have decided to endorse and back the Buy A Car campaign.

Retailers like Vertu, Inchcape, Marshall, Peter Vardy and Sandicliffe, carmakers like Kia, Jaguar and Citroën, and suppliers like parkers.co.uk, Auto Trader, Justgoodcars.com and Car Care Plan have added their support. 

This ranges from vocal endorsement to sending out press releases stating why they back the campaign which is helping to drum up greater media interest.

So far we’ve done an interview on local radio, including BBC Cambridgeshire with Daksh Gupta at Marshall Motor Group, and our press release has been published on several industry websites, including Justgoodcars.com and Motortorque.com. But the campaign is only just taking off.

The big question is where we go from here. What about a national campaign with advertising and PR? That costs money, but some of our supporters have said they would be willing to dip into their coffers. Would you?

We’ve put a poster on our website that dealers can download to display in the showroom for the benefit of customers and staff – it’s crucial that everyone understands why it is such a great time to buy a new or used car, and creates a more positive atmosphere in the dealership. 

You can also download the Buy A Car press release for distribution to local press contacts. You all have influence here – after all, many of you spend significant sums on advertising in your local newspapers. Get some positive publicity for the industry in return.
