The Warranty Group launches service plan dealer training

The Warranty Group is launching a new scheme to dealers which has been designed to help them sell more service plans.

The new service "Try Our Expert" allows a dealership to hire a service plan specialist from The Warranty Group for a typical period of two to three weeks, putting in place sales procedures and teaching new skills to dealership staff.

Service plans break down the cost of routine car servicing into monthly payments made by direct debit.

Ian Simpson, The Warranty Group sales and marketing director, said: "We have been trialling this idea and in an average dealership over a fortnight, the expert can move from a standing start to selling 10-15 service plans every week.”

The Warranty Group is really trying to push service plans this year and the Try Our Expert service will cost dealership’s £60 per day and The Warranty Group will take £30 commission from each service plan a dealer sells.

Simpson said: "Service plans are an excellent product but very often dealers lack the skills and experience to make them work. Try Our Expert is the fastest way to get them up to speed and selling service plans every day."
