Mazda’s new superlight MX-5 concept will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show from September 15.

The car has been stripped down to save on weight and Mazda’s design studio in Oberursel, Germany has created the car without a windshield and what it calls “sporty chassis settings for pure roadster driving”.

There’s no word yet on whether this car will ever reach UK dealerships as a special edition.
