Pendragon has appointed Mike Davies as its new chairman following the retirement today of Sir Nigel Rudd from the role.

The dealer group had announced in April that Rudd planned to step down after 21 years in the role.

Davies has been a non-executive director at Pendragon since 2004, and is also chairman of Manchester Airports Group and The Royal Mint.

The company is close to appointing two further non-executive directors to its board and said these will be announced during the next few weeks.
