MG’s next model, the MG6, will go on sale in the UK at the start of next year.

Guy Jones, MG Motor UK sales and marketing director, said the five-seat fastback coupe has been benchmarked against models like the Volkswagen Golf and Ford Focus.

The new car will be displayed at the Top Gear live MPH Motor Show on November 4 and Jones said the company will also reveal another new model at the show.

MG revealed its Zero concept car at the Beijing Motor Show earlier this year so the new model reveal could be a production ready version of that.
