Inchcape has appointed banker Simon Borrows to its board as a non-executive director.

Borrows replaces Graham Pimlott, who has been a non-executive director at Inchcape since 2008 and who is stepping down for personal reasons.

Borrows has spent the last 12 years with investment bank Greenhill & Co, most recently as co-chief executive and now as chairman.

Prior to that he was managing director of Baring Brothers International bank.

Ken Hanna, Inchcape's non-executive chairman, said: "Simon has considerable experience as an adviser to leading companies in the UK and internationally as well as being part of the management team of Greenhill & Co.

"I am sure his financial and management experience will be of great benefit to us and I welcome Simon to the team."

Borrows will chair Inchcape's audit committee.
