AMG, the performance brand of Mercedes-Benz, has announced a tie-up with sports motorcycle brand Ducati.

The two will partner in marketing activities and events with an objective of getting in front of more new customers.

The announcement came shortly after AM revealed plans for AMG to become a more prominent player in the UK, which is already the world's third largest market for AMG sales.

It includes AMG's support of Ducati's MotoGP racing team, and at Ducati events participants will be able to experience AMG cars.

Joint events are planned for the 13,000 global members of the AMG Private Lounge.

The partners are also examining further activities and strategic steps they can pursue together.

"AMG and Ducati ideally complement each other, as both companies share the same values: racing as the driving passion, and high performance plus exclusivity as the central brand messages of both AMG and Ducati.

"This long-term cooperation will help us to jointly access new customer groups," said Ola Källenius, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.
