Nationwide Accident Repair Services has this morning announced a major agreement for its recently launched mobile division.

It has secured an agreement worth around £1 million with Hastings Insurance to provide its Motorglass mobile glass repair.

Under the terms of the agreement, Motorglass will provide its mobile glass repair services in the UK from  February 1. The group will be one of only two providers of this service.

The division has also agreed a pilot scheme with an existing insurance customer, trialing the repair of lightly damaged vehicles ‘off-site’ using Nationwide’s specialist van fleet.

The pilot is trialling the repair of lightly damaged vehicles ‘off-site’ using Nationwide’s fleet of specialist vans.

Any larger repairs will go to the group’s bodyshop network.

In addition, Nationwide’s mobile repair business has secured a pilot scheme with another major existing insurance customer to provide its mobile repair offering as part of an integrated repair service.

Michael Wilmshurst, chief executive of Nationwide, said:  "We have a stated aim to expand our mobile repair capability substantially over the next three years and the agreement and pilot announced today represent significant progress on this strategy.”
