From April 1, if your company has an annual VAT exclusive turnover of £100,000 or more, you need to do your VAT returns online and pay your VAT electronically.

It’s the same form and just as secure as doing it on paper.

Doing your return online also helps reduce errors as it provides automatic calculations.

When you submit your online form you’ll automatically receive an on-screen acknowledgment to confirm your VAT return has been received.

What’s more it’s available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

If you’re using HM Revenue & Customs’ online services for the first time, you will need to register for an online account.

Do this at least seven days before so HMRC can send you an Activation Code through the post.
