Peter Vardy has made several senior appointments to bolster its management team.

The dealer group, which now runs nine sites across Scotland, has appointed Alistair Borthwick as its new group financial controller. Prior to taking on his new role, Borthwick spent three years at Grant Thornton, latterly as associate director in its M&A team. His key role within Peter Vardy is to develop the expanding group’s financial infrastructure.

Danielle Macleod has moved from a senior strategic role at BSKYB to take on a new position as head of HR and change. Her key areas of responsibility are to further develop the company’s training programmes, manage graduate recruitment and ensure Peter Vardy moves to become a top 10 company to work for in the UK.

Andrea Holland joins the company as head of customer experience & group foundation. Holland’s new role is to implement the company’s customer relationship. She will also oversee the core activities of the group’s charitable foundation, which distributes 10% of annual profits to support local and international organisations.

The appointments follow Peter Vardy’s acquisition of Vauxhall dealerships in Edinburgh and Aberdeen from the John Martin Group.

Chief executive Peter Vardy, recently voted sixth best leader in the UK at the Sunday Times awards, said: “These appointments underline our intention to attract the best people to the company and deliver on our key aims of creating a world class company which delivers for colleagues and customers.

“It’s a huge coup for us to have attracted so many high calibre people from leading companies and it highlights our determination to be the best.”
