Renault has shown a first glimpse of its electric sportscar concept, the DeZir.

The model is powered by a 24kWh lithium-ion battery with a range of 100 miles and is due to get its first public debut at the Paris Motor Show on October 2.

The DeZir project is the first to have been led by Laurens van den Acker and marks the start of a sequence of concept cars that will provide an insight into Renault's new design ideas for the future. The French brand also said it lays the foundations for the styling cues of Renault's forthcoming vehicles.
