Marshall is looking to recruit a new finance director after moving Francis Laud into the new role of head of financial reporting.

Laud was previously Marshall’s finance director and his move to the new role also means there’s a vacancy on the family-owned group’s board of directors.

Daksh Gupta, chief executive of Marshall, said: “I am delighted that Francis has stepped into this important role which will be a huge support for me and the rest of the senior team here.

“In the fast moving environment that motor retailers operate in, having high quality and up-to-date management information is critical. Francis has a deep understanding the industry and the company which will be invaluable. He will also be able to help with any further acquisitions that we may make.”

Gupta said he was looking for individuals that have worked at a senior level within the motor industry or even from outside the sector for the role of finance director.
