Fiat Group Automobiles UK has announced the appointment of Jon Wakefield to the role of sales director.

Reporting to managing director Andrew Humberstone, Wakefield takes over responsibility for developing sales of new cars across the Fiat Group, for the Fiat and Alfa Romeo brands.

He has had a 20-year career in motor retail, including senior posts with dealer groups DaimlerChrysler Retail and Inchcape and serving as sales director of Chrysler UK from 2007 to 2009.

“I am looking forward to working with our dealer partners to ensure that we meet our mutual business objectives,” said Wakefield.

“There is much potential in the Fiat and Alfa Romeo brands which together I am confident we can realise.”
