Mazda has revealed its Takeri concept which shows what could be the next generation Mazda6 saloon which is expected to go on sale next year.

The Takeri is based on Mazda’s new Kodo design concept and includes its new Skyactiv technology. It’s also the first model to feature Mazda’s new fuel-saving regenerative braking system and is fitted with the SkyActiv-D diesel engine feature in the CX-5 crossover, which will be the first production model to feature the Skyactiv technology.

The new system converts kinetic energy to electricity during deceleration, stores it in capacitors and then uses it to power the vehicle’s electrical equipment.
