Seat is looking to increase the size of its dealer network from 122 to 135 sites across the UK in order to help it meet growth targets.

The Spanish brand is looking to expand with a variety of potential partners. It already has representation with a variety of dealer types, ranging from blue-chip PLCs like Vertu Motors and Sytner, to large family owned groups like Arnold Clark and Snows Motor Group, as well as single-site operators like Pembrokeshire-based Gareth Hughes Motors.

Seat said dealer profitability is improving through increased turnover and “targeted coaching using motor industry guru Trevor Jones”.

Seat had its best ever March this year with sales of 7,200 giving it a record market share of almost 2%.

Jason Cranswick, Seat UK national franchise manager, said: “Absorption rates are improving and an 80% rate as a target should be achievable.

“More than this, engaging with our network and sharing best-practice techniques via our networks of area managers are simple but important methods of supporting and nurturing our dealers.”
