Porsche is adding a diesel powertrain to its Panamera grand tourer range this August.

It will widen the appeal of the four-door Porsche, which is positioned as a sporty rival to traditional luxury saloons such as the BMW 7 Series.

It goes on sale in August, priced from £62,134.

Porsche claims the car is able to transport four occupants from Lands End to Loch Ness without refuelling, thanks to its 250bhp 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel and eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission.

Officials figures show 44.8mpg combined economy and 172g/km CO2 emissions, plus performance of 0-62mph in 6.8 seconds and 150mph top speed.

This new model can be recognised by the lettering ‘diesel’ on the front doors.
