Kwik-Fit Group has announced the departure of top management following the purchase of the company by Japanese corporation Itochu.

Ian Fraser, chief executive, and group finance director Michael Healy have left the fast-fit group, which will now be headed by Kenji Murai, who is also CEO of Stapletons Tyre Services (STS), also owned by Itochu.

An Itochu spokesman said: “We would like to thank Ian and Michael for their work in establishing Kwik-Fit as the clear market leader and creating a very strong position.

“The company has substantially developed under their leadership and we wish them well for the future.

“In Kenji Murai we have the ideal leader for Kwik-Fit on the next stage of its journey.

“We are confident that Kwik Fit can go from strength to strength under his leadership.”

Kwik-Fit Group, a major player in the fleet servicing and MoT market, has 676 centres in the UK and 1,800 service outlets across Europe, employing 9,000 people.

Itochu is one of Japan’s leading trading companies.
