Directors at the UK's top companies are retiring on pensions of about £175,000 a year, a survey has said.
The High Pay Commission (HPC) said FTSE 100 directors received pensions of up to 29 times the rest of the workforce.
It found most other workers retire on a median £5,860 annual pension.
It comes at a time when many employee pension schemes are being closed or becoming less generous.
More than 97% of executive directors in FTSE 350 companies have company-sponsored pension arrangements, compared with a third of private sector staff.
