North-west of England dealer RRG Group has acquired more Toyota and Lexus dealerships.

It has completed its acquisition of West Riding Motor Group's Bradford, Silsden and Huddersfield Toyota dealerships plus its Bradford Lexus outlet.

Joint managing director Arran Bangham said: “Creating long term business partnerships helps to grow the business, promote confidence and enhance mutual profitability. With this partnership we are bringing WRMG’s successful Toyota and Lexus sites into our portfolio which will undoubtedly increase our revenues and our success."

"With the acquisition of these successful and well situated Yorkshire sites, we are well on our way to becoming not only the North-west’s but also the North’s major player in the car industry.”

The acquisition includes £10m of assets including stock.

It has also gained its first Nissan franchise, which will be added alongside its existing Toyota business in Bolton Road, Bury following a £750,000 investment.

The news marks the beginning of a growth period for RRG, with both expansion through acquisition and attaining a balanced portfolio of manufacturers firmly on top of the business agenda.

The introduction of Nissan to the Bolton Road site is set to contribute a positive effect on the local job market, with the creation of 12 new positions.

Joint managing director Tony Cliff said: "We have been in Bury since 1978 and we look forward to continuing to be the local car dealership of choice."

Established in 2003, WRMG has a long history with Toyota with its Keighley (Silsden) site, which opened in 1967, being one of Toyota’s oldest locations in the country.

The Huddersfield site also has a long history, hosting a Toyota dealer for the past 40 years, and the Bradford Toyota site has been in operation since 1982.
