Bridgestone UK is set to roll out a new bespoke training course designed to create industry renowned ‘Tyre Geniuses’ with expertise across all aspects of the tyre sector.
The Genius Training Development programme aims to provide a clearly defined development structure and was launched on the January 31 with 30 high performing employees from a broad spectrum of tyre companies.
The training has been configured to cover all aspects related to the tyre industry including sales and tyre technology as well as finance, marketing and people development, with the end aim of producing tyre specialists capable of dealing with all aspects of the industry and providing outstanding customer service.
Steve Howat, training and audit manager at Bridgestone UK, said: “Most retail tyre training is organised on ad-hoc basis which tends to be specific to individual customers, this takes a high number of staff away from the business, which in these very challenging times can have a major impact financially.
“It also often leads to a weakened training value as there is no clear progression structure for staff. With the Genius Training Development programme the learning is split into 12 individual courses over two years allowing the lessons learned to be reinforced over time and form a valuable day to day working knowledge.”
