Skurrays has bought the Hartwell Vauxhall dealership in Oxford.
For owners Nick Plevey and Nigel Harvey, this is their first acquisition since purchasing Wiltshire-based Skurrays in January 2009. It has dealerships in Swindon and Marlborough.
Hartwell is ending its Vauxhall representation - it recently sold two other Vauxhall dealerships to Thurlow Nunn, and ended the franchise at its motor park in Newport, Isle of Wight.
A team of 50 staff will transfer from Hartwell to Skurrays under the Oxford acquisition.
Plevey said: “Skurrays is a long-established and highly trusted brand in Wiltshire where we enjoy a great relationship with our very loyal customer base; we’re delighted to be extending our reach by becoming part of the Oxford motor scene, and it is our intention to bring with us the same commitment to offering high standards that we believe every customer should expect.”
Harvey added: "Taking over from Hartwell presents us with a great opportunity to grow our business and develop a strong regional presence which we believe will go from strength to strength as the UK economy starts to recover in the coming years."
