International car dealer Inchcape said quarterly revenue was flat but slightly ahead of its expectations on strong demand for premium vehicles in the UK, Russia and emerging markets.

The London-based automotive group said it expects demand for its premium and prestige brand cars to remain strong in Asia-Pacific and emerging markets in 2012.

In UK, it expects to continue to gain market share. Q1 like-for-like revenue in the UK rose 4.9%.

Inchcape reported global revenue of £1.56 billion pounds for the first quarter, in line with last year.

Revenue in Russia and emerging markets surged 19.5 percent.
