Arnold Clark Automobiles has been left in the clear after it was challenged over its advertising.

After a promotion on its website highlighted an offer for a Seat Leon at a £6,392 saving on cost price, a complainant challenged the availability of the car at the advertised price.

The Advertising Standards Authority was provided with evidence from Arnold Clark that four of those vehicles were sold or reserved at the advertised price at various branches.

The ASA was satisfied and rejected the complaint.

The case comes almost a year after Lookers was censured for marketing offers relating to used cars which were not actually in the dealer's stock.
