Senior staff at Marshall Motor Group have been promoted - and won a national award.

Following the acquisition of Silver Street Automotive, the group has strengthened its
senior management team with two senior appointments:

>? Tim Phillips has been promoted to the newly-created position of brand director for the
group’s seven Honda businesses. He joined Marshall in 2009 when it acquired
three De Vries Honda businesses in Yorkshire from the administrators. Initially sales
manager at the York Honda business, Phillips was then promoted to be general manager of
both York Honda and Hull Honda. He reports to franchise director David Waghorn.

>? Stephen Jay has joined as brand director for Mercedes-Benz and Smart,
based in the North West. He has joined after 11 years at Lookers where he was brand director of the Taggart’s operations in Scotland. He reports directly to commercial director, Chris Sheppard

>? Peter Cakebread, managing director of Marshall Leasing has been appointed chairman of the
British Vehicle Rental & Leasing Association (BVRLA), a position he will hold for two years.

>? Richard Baird, also of Marshall Leasing, has been appointed to the board of directors for
the Association of Car Fleet Operators (ACFO), an organisation he has served for
over 20 years

Finally, Daksh Gupta, chief executive of Marshall, was named the winner of the BDO British Indian Businessman of the Year award, which covers businesses in all sectors.

Gupta said: “This has been a great week for Marshall, both in our retail dealership businesses and also in our leasing company.
