Ferrari has revealed details for its extreme version of the 458 which features less weight and more power.

Engineers have taken out 90kg from the regular 458 and boosted performance by 35bhp to 597bhp from the 4.5-litre V8. The new supercar will hit 0-62mph in 3 seconds and a 0-124mph time of 9.1 seconds.

Aerodynamic flaps on the front and rear of the car automatically adjust to balance downforce and a Side Slip angle Control system (SSC) is included on the 458 Speciale to make it easier to keep the car under control when driven on the limit.

The 458 Speciale will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show at the start of September, with production starting soon after.

Prices have not been confirmed but it is likely to cost over £200,000.
