Audi has expanded its Q3 range with the addition of a ‘frugal’ 1.4-litre TFSI petrol engine and a new ‘top-ranking’ S line Plus specification.

Priced from £23,870 OTR, the new 1.4 TFSI is an entry-level alternative to the 140PS 2.0-litre TDI model.

Available in SE and S line trim, it offers peak power of 150PS and maximum torque of 250Nm through either a six-speed manual or seven-speed S tronic twin-clutch transmission.

Paired with the manual transmission, the Q3 1.4 TFSI will reach 62mph from rest in 9.2 seconds.

Combined fuel economy stands at 47.9mpg and C02 emissions at 137g/km (145g/km for S tronic models).

Slotting in above the S line, the new S line Plus specification is available for all quattro-equipped 2.0 TFSI and 2.0 TDI models. It carries a £2,350 premium over S line trim.

Audi says it has boosted ‘visual appeal’ by replacing the 18-inch S line wheel with a 19-inch design.
