Vertu Motors is to open its fifth Renault and Dacia car dealership, at Nottingham, early next year.

The dealer group has this week acquired the lease on a former Co-Op Motor Group Renault site at Haydn Road from New College Nottingham, which has been using the site to train apprentice technicians since it bought it from Co-Op in spring 2013. It had also retained its Renault approved repairer status.

Vertu Motors chief executive Robert Forrester said the property will be refurbished and will open early in 2015 representing the Renault/Dacia brands and also as a home to a second Honda Motorcycles dealership being added to the group.

He said the business will also provide work experience to students from the college.

The top 10 AM100 motor retailer already has Renault/Dacia franchises at nearby Derby and Bradford, plus at Exeter and Gloucester.

It also has a Honda Motorcycles dealership at Grantham.

"Renault/Dacia is one of the most improved franchises in our group this year for new car profit," Forrester said.
