Volkswagen has announced that it will be revealing its all-new Golf GTD estate at Geneva Motor Show next month.

The show, which will take place between March 5-15, will mark the reveal of the first Golf estate to grace the GTD (Gran Turismo Diesel) initials.

Like the Golf GTD hatchback, it will feature the 2.0-litre 181bhp TDI engine with a 0-62mph of 7.9seconds and a combined fuel consumption figure of 64.2 mpg.

Along with special GTD bumpers and the honeycomb radiator grille, the Golf GTD Estate also includes smoked rear lights, flared sills, 17-inch Curitiba alloys, black roof rails dual chrome tailpipes, bi-xenon headlights, sports suspension with ride height lowered by 15mm and progressive steering, which gives a sharper response during high-performance driving, as well as ensuring greater comfort in ordinary conditions.

Inside features sport seats in Clark tartan, illuminated door sills, black headliner, black pillar trims, stainless steel pedal caps, multi-function steering wheel with aluminium trim and golf-ball-style gear knob.

The model is expected to go on sale in April, with first deliveries taking place in June – pricing will be confirmed closer to launch.
