A UK television production company is looking for a successful dealer executive to help turnaround the fortunes of ailing garages in the US for a BBC America programme.

Alaska TV is in the pre-production stages of making a pilot and is looking for people with a no-nonsense expertise, or as assistant producer Robyn Stephenson put it, "particularly  a younger, smooth, sharp automotive legend".

"We are looking for someone used to dealing with the most demanding customers on the planet. They will advise on publicity and how to build a customer base.

"We are looking to speak to people as soon as possible.

"Experience is important, but character and personality is probably more so. It would involve travel to America."

The programme's title, she said, was 'The good, the bad and the oily'. Inspiring it is the fact that Top Gear and restaurant/kitchen turnaround series are the most popular programmes on BBC America.
