Nissan cuts business centre dealers to improve service proposition

Nissan is to create a three-tier structure to its corporate dealer network as it looks to enhance service levels for van fleet customers.

As part of the network changes, the number of dealers on the business centre programme will reduce by up to 15, leaving Nissan with around 60 fleet specialists. The new proposition will be launched in April.

“We will trial a dedicated service offering in the right territories and with the right dealers,” said Jim Wright, Nissan GB managing director.

“Our idea is to have a network that can service light commercial vehicles and 60 dealers with a specialisation in vans. We will also have a handful that are very specialised and will offer additional services like late-night opening and a commitment to vehicle off-road times. They will service the large corporate accounts.”

Nissan has won a number of large blue-chip corporate accounts, such as British Gas, which require a higher level of sales and aftersales support.

The new dealer structure is intended to persuade more companies that Nissan is able to handle large volumes with the level of customer service they expect.
