Yorkshire-based Burrows Motor Company has added a fifth Toyota dealership to its network with the acquisition of L&S Copcutt in Worksop.

The new business complements the group's four existing Toyota dealerships in Sheffield, Doncaster, Barnsley and Rotherham.

The news follows its withdrawal from the Hyundai franchise, with the sale of its Doncaster site to the Read Motor Group.

Burrows Motor Company managing director, Steve Burrows said: “Over the past year, we have been concentrating on reducing the number of franchises we hold as a group, while maintaining and growing our dealership presence by expanding our relationships with existing manufacturers.”

L&S Copcutt is a family-run business and will remain “heavily involved” in the running of the business, with Martin and Neil Copcutt remaining on site and continuing their relationship with existing customers.

Burrows will be retaining the same staff, customer warranties and MOT/servicing arrangements.

Martin Copcutt said: “We’re proud to associate our business with the Burrows Motor Company group, which even though it is larger in size than us, is still an independently-owned and family-run business with similar values to us.

“Being part of the group provides us with the additional benefit and financial stability that come from having multiple dealerships.

"We’ll still be looking after our customers in exactly the same way as we always have done, but we’re also looking forward to welcoming new customers and opportunities.”

Burrows Motor Company now has eight dealerships across three car franchises including Toyota, Mazda, Kia and a specialist used car dealership, Mint Cars.

Burrows said: “L&S Copcutt is a great family business, based on the same commitment to excellent customer service that runs throughout the entire Burrows team.

"We’re looking forward to working with them to deliver Burrows value into Worksop and the surrounding Nottinghamshire area.”
