The Fix Auto network is developing its first repair centre solely dedicated to light commercial vehicles and vans.

The new 15,000 sq ft repair centre will complement the established Fix Auto Basingstoke repair centre owned by Dale Morris (pictured) with the first vehicles scheduled for repair by mid-January.

Work has already started on installing the necessary groundwork including airlines needed prior to the installation of twin oversized spraybooths, large four-poster lifts and supporting equipment. New IT and security systems are also being fitted.

The new site which is positioned on a main arterial road linking the town’s key commercial area with its primary residential area is less than a five-minute drive from the established Fix Auto Basingstoke centre.

Morris said: “Choosing the right building to suit our needs has been critical to our plans. Access and security to the site was paramount as was the need to develop a layout which enables a seamless and efficient in/out layout. This site gives us that and more.”

A six-strong team of technicians will initially staff the new site and staff headcount will double once fully operational.

Commenting on the investment, Ian Pugh, managing director for Fix Auto UK, said: “Here we are a New Year and another new chapter being developed within the network! While many of our repairers have the ability to process damaged LCVs, developing a repair centre solely dedicated to them is yet another first for Fix Auto UK.”
