Nissan has confirmed that the all-new Micra will officially go on sale across Europe in late 2025, marking the return of the iconic compact car in its sixth generation - this time as a fully electric vehicle.

Designed in London at Nissan’s European Design Centre, the SUV-inspired design offers buyers a choice of two battery capacities: a 40kWh entry-level version, delivering 90kW of power and 192 miles of range and a 52kWh version with 110kW of power and 253-mile range

Both variants support fast DC charging, with the 52kWh model capable of charging from 15% to 80% in just 30 minutes via a 100kW charger. The smaller battery version offers an 80kW charging rate.

Though Nissan has yet to announce official pricing, insiders suggest the Micra will aim to undercut key rivals in the B-segment EV market, targeting an entry price near £25,000 in the UK.

That would position it competitively against models like the Peugeot e-208 and the Renault 5 EV, appealing to urban buyers and first-time EV adopters.

The new Micra is built on the AmpR small EV platform, developed in partnership with the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, and features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability as standard enabling the car to power external devices such as tools or appliances.

It will be available in a five-door configuration only, with a range of trim levels and colour options and a suite of advanced driver assistance systems including Nissan ProPILOT Assist.
