Used car dealer Allmini has been fined a total of £2,240 after selling a Citroen Saxo in dangerous condition, according to the Buxton Advertiser.

Prosecutor Derbyshire County Council trading standards found that corrosion to the chassis, seat belt mountings and suspension “would involve a danger of injury to any person”.

Michael Allen, trading as Allmini, on Marple Road, Charlesworth, admitted the crime on May 10, but did not attend the hearing on April 21 at High Peak Magistrates’ Court. Allen's solictor registered a guilty plea on his behalf.

Allen was fined £202, costs of £1,358, plus £680 compensation to the buyer.
