Three UK Nissan dealerships have celebrated winning the carmaker’s highest global retail honour.

Wellington Nissan in Somerset, Glyn Hopkin Nissan in Chelmsford and West Way Nissan Birmingham were among just 100 worldwide to receive the Nissan Global Award for 2015.

The accolade, reserved for the world’s best performing Nissan dealers, recognises a dealership’s outstanding sales performance and customer care.

James Wright, Nissan Motor (GB) managing director said: “Very few dealerships in the world receive a Nissan Global Award and to win one is very special.

“This award recognises Wellington Nissan, Glyn Hopkin Chelmsford and West Way Birmingham as leaders in Nissan’s worldwide retail network. Their commitment and hard work is ensuring that Nissan remains the fastest growing brand in the UK today.”

It was the second successive global award for Glyn Hopkin Chelmsford, whose managing director, Fraser Cohen, said: “Most dealerships never receive a Nissan Global Award and so for us to win two on the bounce is an astonishing achievement.”

Michael Finn, dealer principal at Wellington Motors, in Chelston Business Park, said: “We’re thrilled to receive this global award as it’s only presented where there is an exceptional standard of service across all areas of a business.”

David O’Grady, dealer principal at West Way Birmingham in Sutton Coldfield, part of Nissan's manufacturer-owned dealer group Aprite, added: “We have a fabulous and hard-working team at the dealership and every staff member has played a part in this incredible success. They should all feel very proud of what we’ve achieved.”
