Peter Vardy has relocated its £2m Heritage Collection to a specially-created pavilion at its CarStore in Hillington.

A total of 18 classics were moved in covered and protected transporters from their previous home in Co Durham as part of an operation which brought the business into the heart of the group’s Glasgow operation.

There are now plans to increase the stock of classics at the site to between 35 to 40 vehicles in the immediate future.

Nigel Simpson, operations director of the Collection who previously worked for Reg Vardy for 25 years, said: "We are now up and running with an absolutely fantastic collection of truly great cars, backed by the ultimate VIP service to ensure that every detail of our clients' motoring desire is fulfilled."

The Collection provides a full Heritage service, offering personalised, expert advice on investment, value creation, restoration, storage, maintenance and transportation.

A craftsman mechanic is joining the team and new sales staff with specific classic car knowledge will also be brought on board as the Collection expands.

Peter Vardy, chief executive, said: "We are delighted to welcome Nigel back and we are absolutely thrilled to have the Heritage Collection at the heart of the business. Classic cars not only offer great investment benefits, but can be driven and enjoyed without affecting their value."
