Lookers is preparing to bring Volvo back to South Manchester with new dealership to open in Stockport next year.
The new facility, to be situated on St Marys Way, Stockport, will be built to meet the design specifications of Volvo Retail Experience (VRE), and will be open for business this time next year with the capacity to display 10 cars in the showroom and 50 used cars on the forecourt.
Until then, Lookers Volvo will continue to operate from a temporary facility on St Mary’s Way.
Lookers’ franchise manager, Miles Alvis, said: “St Marys Way is one of the largest areas in the UK for new car registrations, which represents huge opportunities for both Lookers and Volvo, particularly as a whole new range of premium models will be coming to market over the next few years.
“Having been a franchised partner of Volvo since 2006, as part of the Lookers family we are investing heavily in the growth of the brand by looking at further relocation opportunities, as well as improving our existing facilities in Colchester and Glasgow.
“We’re immensely excited to have secured our new premises in Stockport and we’re looking forward to being a fully operational, stand-alone Volvo dealership in a year’s time.”
Lookers’ new Volvo franchise will offer while-you-wait-servicing and MOTs, where customers can see their vehicle in one of Lookers’ state-of-the-art workshop bays though a unique internal viewing window.
The group will be employing new members of staff within the business, including technicians, product specialists, sales and aftersales managers and a receptionist.

“Getting the right representation in the right location was crucial for us and by working with an existing partner such as Lookers we have been able to achieve this on St Marys Way.
“The purpose-built VRE showroom will have large exterior and interior glazing, a focus on physical and digital presentation and integrated sales and service areas to deliver an open and friendly environment.”
