Jaguar Land Rover's latest Arch Concept dealership has opened its doors following JF & E Hadwin's £4.3 million investment in its Kentdale showroom facility.

Caddick Construction led the 11-month programme of works which has now resulted in the opening of a franchised site featuring significantly upgraded and expanded Jaguar and Land Rover showrooms at the site, located on the A6 in Kendal.

JF & E Hadwin represents Jaguar and Land Rover at its new Kentdale facility and Land Rover at Torver, also in Cumbria, and Settle, North Yorkshire.

In its last published accounts, for the year ended November 30, 2017, the group recorded a turnover up 3.1% at £86 million turnover but posted a £521,650 loss.

It said in its annual statement: “The huge disruption for the main site to meet the manufacturer’s new standards has proved harder than anticipated and has had a greater impact on the ability to trade profitably.”

It added: “Our employees have worked hard through the year to continue to deliver high standards of sales and after care, and our thanks go to them for their continued hard work.”

Commenting on the completion of the new facility, Eric Hadwin, owner and managing director of JF & E Hadwin, expressed his optimism for the new site. He said: “The upgraded facilities and increased space at our showroom are vital to serving the next generation of Kentdale Jaguar Land Rover customers.

“The entire team are excited to get started in our new facilities and we want to thank Caddick Construction for their hard work.”

Ian Threadgold, North West managing director at Caddick Construction, said: “We are proud to have completed the new Kentdale Jaguar Land Rover Showroom.

“Not only is this now a first class facility that can take full advantage of the increased space, but it marks the completion of an important pillar of our expanding automotive portfolio.”

Knottingley-based Caddick Construction was recently awarded a contract for Williams Group’s planned £41 million flagship car showroom at TraffordCity, which will house Jaguar Land Rover, BMW, and Mini showrooms under one roof.
