Pentagon Motor Group, which is a division of Motus Group (UK), has partnered with Ohme to offer home charging solutions to its new and used electric vehicle sales.

Pentagon showrooms will have an Ohme Home Pro charger for customers to view and learn more about.

The group is made up of 48 retailers across 23 locations and 13 manufacturer franchises, including Citroen, Cupra, Dacia, Fiat Professional, Ford, Kia, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Peugeot, Renault, Seat and Vauxhall.

Pentagon is investing in an expanded electric vehicle offering for customers after it saw its plug-in vehicle sales increase by more than eight times over the last 12 months.

David Peel, Pentagon Motor Group managing director, said: “We considered many potential charging partners and it was clear to us that Ohme’s dynamic smart charging capability, award-winning products and excellent customer service made it the obvious choice for Pentagon’s customers.

“With EVs accounting for a fifth of all our new car sales across the whole group, it’s a key element of our business that’s growing fast.”

Ohme’s smart chargers can connect with the National Grid in real time and automatically adjust their charging for drivers to take advantage of all the times of low price charging with off-peak tariffs.

Ohme also offers drivers the option to charge their car when renewable energy generation on the national grid is at its highest, further lowering their CO2 impact.

A full charge on a 58kWh Cupra Born with an Ohme charger on a smart off-peak tariff, such as Octopus Intelligent, could cost just £4.35 for a driving range of 264 miles (WLTP).

Ohme is also the official charger provider for the Volkswagen Group in the UK and Ireland as well as Motability Operations, the largest fleet operator in the UK.
