Launch events at Peter Vardy's first MG dealerships this Saturday will offer £1,000 savings off any new model when booking a test drive.

The AM100 car dealer group has secured the MG franchise for its dealerships in Edinburgh and Kirkcaldy and has its refurbished car showrooms ready to welcome buyers from Scotland.

It comes shortly after Peter Vardy revealed that it was downsizing its Carz used car supermarket operation, which had expanded in recent years from the original Glasgow site - which won an AM Award in 2018 - into Dundee and then in 2021 Carz was rolled out to six more dealerships which had previously represented Vauxhall.

Peter Vardy CARZ GlasgowThe largest Carz sites in Glasgow, which opened as Peter Vardy Carstore in 2013, and Dundee, which opened in 2017, will close due to the industry's lack of used car stock, which has prevented the operations from achieving the desired sales throughput.

A company statement said: "The decision to expand its portfolio with MG dealerships comes as a part of Peter Vardy's strategic vision to offer customers an even wider range of exceptional vehicle choices. It reaffirms also Peter Vardy's commitment to delivering an unmatched customer experience and catering to the diverse needs of the Scottish automotive market."

The launch event will also offer 0% APR finance on selected MG models and family entertainment on site.

"We are delighted to introduce the MG brand to Edinburgh and Kirkcaldy," said Peter Vardy (pictured), chief executive of the Peter Vardy Group. "MG has a rich history and a strong reputation for manufacturing high-quality, innovative, and affordable vehicles.

“We are confident that this addition to our dealerships will resonate with our customers, and we are excited to bring this iconic British brand closer to the people of Edinburgh and Kirkcaldy."

Peter Vardy Group trades from 14 locations across Scotland, representing brands such as Porsche, Jaguar, Land Rover, BMW, Mini, MG and GWM ORA alongside the Carz used cars operation.
