BMW Financial Services has added another insurance solution to its suite of motor insurance products.

BMW Excess Protection Insurance is now available under the BMW, Mini, BMW Motorrad and Alphera Financial Services brands throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland.

Administered by warranty and insurance firm Allianz Global Assistance UK, the cover is available through BMW Group retailers and Alphera partners

The policy is designed to reduce costs at the time of a customer having to make a claim on a motor, home or travel insurance policy.

BMW Financial Services’ existing insurance products include GAP, tyre, alloy wheel repair and cosmetic repair insurance, all offered through the BMW Group networks.

Steve Cann, general manager for BMW Insurance Solutions said: “BMW Excess Protection Insurance is our latest product and is designed to financially assist customers when they need it most. We have worked closely with Allianz Global Assistance to produce a high quality yet still affordable insurance offering, which has been welcomed by both our customers and Retailers alike.

“BMW Excess Protection Insurance takes the uncertainty out of motor insurance, as the policyholder knows their potentially large excess can be covered if they need to make a claim. With the ability to pay annually or by interest-free monthly instalments, the insurance is an effective way to budget for the potential cost of vehicle repair.”
