Jigcar has appointed automotive industry stalwart and former McLaren and Nissan GB director Jon Pollock as its new commercial director.

Pollock’s automotive career spans over three decades with a succession of high profile positions including McLaren Automotive’s global sales director and managing director – Europe Region.

He was also sales director of Nissan Motor GB, general manager sales operations of Toyota GB and global head of sales of Aston Martin.

The appointment is part of the strategic growth plans for the start-up which specialises in delivering AI-driven vehicle transportation solutions for multi-site dealer groups, car supermarkets as well as leasing, daily rental and corporate fleets.

Elliott Perks, chief executive and co-founder of Jigcar said: “Having worked with Jon on a consultancy basis since Jigcar first went to market, we’re delighted to solidify his role in the management team on a permanent basis at an important time for the company as we accelerate our growth plans.

“Jon’s extensive industry experience has already been pivotal to Jigcar’s early success in the UK and will continue to be as we scale both our customer base and product offering across the dealer and fleet sectors.”

Commenting on his appointment, Pollock said: “After over 30 years’ corporate automotive experience, it’s a privilege to be able to join this young, dynamic start-up business.

“My focus will be to increase Jigcar’s penetration across the top 100 dealer groups and develop new partnerships with OEMs as well as rental and leasing vendors.”

This latest senior management hiring follows the appointment of another high profile industry leader, Simon Bottomley, as Jigcar’s chairman and James Griffin, formerly Cazoo’s head of logistics, as transport director.
